Japan has a natural environment that combines the richness and harshness of each season, including deep snow. Since ancient times, the Japanese have sought to incorporate the great energy of natural phenomena, plants and animals into themselves, and have developed a unique aesthetic sense that encompasses not only food, clothing and shelter, but also art and religion.
Japanese armor also has a history of being made with a wide variety of materials (leather, lacquer, iron, copper, string, etc.) that are rare even in the world, and is robust and precise. Armor was meant to protect the wearer's body from attacks during battle. However, it is not just defense; ease of movement is essential for attacking. It was also intended to inspire the wearer. Japanese armor is not only characterized by its practical aspects, but also by its use of color. Incorporating the unique sense of transience that flows through the seasons, such as cherry blossoms in spring, the fresh greenery of May, and autumn leaves, into the color scheme of armor is an advanced culture that only the Japanese can achieve.
In other words, armor can be said to be the ultimate active protector that has evolved to protect the mind and body in life-or-death battles.
The YOROI® series brings that armor back to life for modern ski slopes.
It is a sophisticated fusion of the armor mindset that has been cultivated by the Japanese since ancient times and the cutting-edge technology required for active scenes.
The entire fabric absorbs shock, and materials are selected based on the priority of the parts of the body that require shock cushioning, achieving shock cushioning that is tailored to each part.
In addition, it has temperature regulation functionality, breathability, and a comfortable fit, and is designed to be worn in any season. It is also designed to be lightweight and easy to move in.
From racing for competitive professionals, to protective equipment for enjoying sports on your days off, to safety and security in your daily work, we strive to create products that incorporate the Japanese spirit to reduce the risk of injury and provide more comprehensive and reliable support, and we continue to evolve every day.
TECHNOLOGY

Lightweight and easy to move in. Doesn't get stuffy, so it's comfortable even when you sweat.
●Multi-layer structure is effective for impact energy dispersion. Impact energy is absorbed and dissipated at the same time, reducing the energy. Theoretically, the energy generated when an impact is applied is converted into sound, heat, etc. In other words, in order to absorb and dissipate impact energy, it is important to create an environment that is easier to dissipate heat and sound. The highly breathable honeycomb layer, memory foam layer, and countless vents in the pad body allow heat to escape more smoothly, helping to reduce impact and providing a tremendous effect in greatly reducing the direct external impact on the body. If the pad is in direct contact with the body, the impact energy is transmitted directly to the body, resulting in greater pain damage. YOROI® absorbs impact with a special honeycomb applied to the entire body, and the multi-layer structure further allows energy to escape and reduces impact energy. It is an original protector that has a unique feature of absorbing impact without relying on only one layer of material.

YOROI Perfect Guard System
The cross-section of the pads in important areas is shown in the figure above, and they are multi-layered. Like ancient armor, they are made up of several different materials. Starting from the parts closest to the body, they are made of sweat-absorbing, quick-drying soft inner (types vary depending on the model), a special honeycomb mesh with shock absorption, memory foam pad, PE board (only in the center of the back and center of the hips), and molded pad. The molded pad comes in three types of hardness. It changes shock from a point to a surface, absorbs it in stages, and is also breathable and sweat-absorbing and quick-drying, making it an ideal guard system that creates a comfortable feeling.
●Step-by-step block absorption from points to surfaces
- First, use a mold to spread the points into a surface.
- The PE board absorbs further impacts. (Some parts and models do not have this.)
- The memory foam slowly changes shape to accommodate your body and the impact, making the impact shallower.
- In addition, the honeycomb mesh absorbs and disperses shocks.
FEATURE
Armor Features

Special honeycomb mesh
It's like a modern version of ultra-lightweight chain mail. Yukiita YOROI® reproduces chain mail with a special honeycomb mesh, which disperses impacts from points to surfaces and protects. In addition, the layer of air inside the fibers regulates body temperature as if breathing. In other words, it dissipates heat when it's hot and stores heat when it's cold. There are two types, 4.5mm and 2.5mm thick. (The 2.5mm thick one is mainly used for regulating body temperature.) Made of polyester.
Made with highly elastic double raschel.
What is chain mail?
Although it originated with the ancient Celts, this chain armor has been used all over the world since ancient times, both in the East and the West. It is said that it was also worn by ninjas and the Shinsengumi. In Japan, when worn under clothing, it is called "Kikomi" and is still highly valued today because it can be layered like clothing. Its greatest features are its flexibility, which allows for easy movement, and its high defensive effect.

Wedge Pad
The moulded pads are wedge shaped to prevent the garment from slipping up when worn.

Wetsuit Material
This material has outstanding strength and elasticity and is also used for wetsuits. It can be cut three-dimensionally to create rounded or uneven shapes, allowing it to fit the body perfectly. It also has shock-resistant properties, making it suitable for use in computer cases. It is washable and stretchy, making it an excellent material for the sports field.

Washable, clean protector
YOROI® protectors are very clean because they can be washed by hand even if you sweat. Some models also come with a protective net for washing, which can be used when using the hand wash cycle in the washing machine. After washing, dry in the shade. (See page 7 for details.)

Airy pad ventilation holes make it even stronger and super lightweight!
The pad has many ventilation holes throughout, allowing steam to escape when body temperature rises.
The POWER series aims to provide greater comfort by not only having an EVA pad, but also a PE board with fine ventilation holes similar to those in molded pads.
The good air flow allows impact energy to escape more easily, improving shock absorption.

Molded Pad
The EVA is molded to fit the body flexibly while absorbing external shocks. There are three types of hardness: soft BR (Bright Pad), hard ST (Strong Pad), and intermediate NJ (Ninja Pad). The hardness is adjusted by the amount of material and pressure applied during molding. Made of EVA material, it is very durable. The molded pad has many grooves to accommodate the movement of the body, providing a natural fit that makes you forget you are wearing it. This molding process gives it a better fit than flat slice pads.

Storage Bags
Depending on the model, a PU storage bag is included, which can be used to take the product with you when traveling or to store it at home.
MATERIAL
material
Memory foam
This material was originally developed based on space development technology.
●Open cell structure (perforated cells): Air flows in and out as if breathing depending on the amount of body pressure, making it highly breathable and comfortable to use all year round.
●Dispersion of body pressure: The biggest feature is that it changes shape in response to body temperature and pressure, dispersing pressure so that it is not placed on one point. It slowly changes to the best shape for relaxing your body.

NBR material
Nitrile rubber (NBR) has excellent durability and water resistance and is used in aircraft, automobiles, etc. It has excellent shock absorption properties and feels like soft gummy candy even at extremely low temperatures.

[High-performance made in Japan] Super deodorizing and super sweat-absorbing and quick-drying "R-CF" material
The back protector is made of super deodorizing spandex fabric and placed in the inner part where sweat is likely to accumulate. There are various ingredients that can be used to deodorize.
R-CF fabric has a deodorizing effect against the four main components of sweat odor: ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, acetic acid, and isovaleric acid. In addition, the material is selected for its excellent elasticity and sweat absorption and quick drying properties.

EVA material
It is soft, elastic, and has excellent shock absorption. It is very lightweight, does not deteriorate easily even when exposed to wind, rain, or ultraviolet rays, and is highly durable. EVA resin does not contain chlorine like polyethylene, so it is an environmentally friendly material that does not produce dioxins even when incinerated. It also has excellent low-temperature properties and does not harden even in cold places, making it a material that can withstand use in cold regions. The hardness can be adjusted by molding.

Japanese tradition: Kyoto gold and silver thread
Gold and silver thread is produced using traditional techniques dating back to the Edo period. It is a traditional Japanese material with a long history of being used in the finest items as a precious and rare material with extremely high added value. Thread made from real silver is a valuable product that can only be made in Joyo City, Kyoto. Gold and silver thread is made by depositing silver onto polyester film, coloring it gold, reinforcing it with Japanese paper, cutting it into small pieces, and wrapping it around a rayon core. Without the right amount of humidity and the skilled craftsmanship, the beautiful luster and strong strength cannot be achieved.
It is also used in the name of YOROI® protectors.

Environmental Considerations
It is very difficult to find a material that is completely environmentally friendly, considering both functionality and cost. However, we generally use materials that do not emit dioxins. Most of the material used in YOROI protectors is plastic fiber, which emits only small amounts of dioxins when burned in processing facilities. We also select raw materials that minimize the environmental impact of the manufacturing process. We also keep in mind the SDGs, which are achieved by using good products for a long time.
●Board part and honeycomb mesh part: PE (polyester) does not produce dioxins even when incinerated.
●Molded pad part: EVA material is highly ozone-resistant, weather-resistant, and heat-resistant, and is highly recyclable. Even if it is burned as waste, it does not produce dioxins, making it an eco-friendly material that is very kind to the global environment.
●Memory resilience material: Foamed urethane (polyurethane) Polyurethane, a plastic made from crude oil, is used for various purposes, and the waste material is then put to effective use and used as energy. The nitrogen content is also lower than natural products such as wool, and when burned under the proper equipment and conditions, it produces less toxic gases than natural products.
●Super stretchy part:
Polyurethane FoamLike polyurethane foam, it is a material that can be effectively used and emits only small amounts of toxic gases when burned in processing facilities.

YOROI SD Pad that reacts to body temperature
The YOROI SD pad used in the JUMPING VEST reacts to body temperature when worn and molds softly to fit the body, providing a comfortable fit and feel.
Moreover, by adapting to body temperature, it fits the body and has improved shock absorption. According to in-house experiments, it absorbs about 94.2% of the shock on the back and about 90% on the front.
Pads made of materials certified to the European motorcycle standard EN1621. Made of NBR PVC foam, this is an environmentally friendly material that does not contain plasticizers such as phthalates under the European REACH regulations.
The pads are small triangular tiling pads resembling Mount Fuji (commonly known as Fujiyama pads).
It fits easily to any movement, so you can concentrate on your performance to the point that you forget you are wearing it. It reacts to temperature, so please wear it for 10 minutes to warm up and get used to your body before starting riding.

The Spirit of Peace
The biggest selling point of "YOROI®" is its high cushioning (shock absorption) that protects athletes from impacts and reduces the risk of injury. The entire fabric absorbs shock, and materials are selected and used based on the priority of the body parts that require shock absorption, achieving shock absorption according to the body part. In addition to shock absorption, it also has temperature regulation functionality based on environmental physiology such as breathability, and pursues ease of movement that does not hinder the athlete's movements. It can be said to be a protector that is fully equipped with high performance and excellent in terms of comfort when worn, as it is strong and ultra-lightweight.
The key concepts of the surface of YOROI® as an ultra-high performance protector are the high shock absorption, breathability, and comfortable fit mentioned above. However, there is a concept behind it that should not be overlooked. It is the spirit of harmony. The spirit is culture and is connected to history. It was named "Yoroi" because armor was born in the spiritual culture of Bushido, which can be said to be the pillar of Japanese culture, and is a symbol of historical culture that was developed and evolved to protect the lives of samurai. The invisible historical culture, the spirit of harmony, is attached to the back of the protector, which is modeled after armor. Visible objects do not exist only as objects. Invisible culture, history, that is, the spirit is attached to it. The concept of the spirit that flows underneath "YOROI®" is the Japanese spirit.
The adjustable waistband allows you to adjust the tightness of the belt according to your waist circumference and pelvic angle, maintaining appropriate abdominal pressure and creating a neutral pelvic position. In ancient Japan, there was a physical technique called focusing energy on the abdomen, which is closely related to maintaining appropriate abdominal pressure and creating a neutral pelvic position. Giving YOROI® the function of a waistband that brings out appropriate lower abdominal and pelvic sensations will improve the posture of the lower torso and induce excellent performance.
(Excerpt from the report by Professor Shingo Oda, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kansai University, "Proposal of a Basic Concept for Improving the Functionality of YOROI")

Core support design
Tightening the waist belt provides firm support for your core.
Maintaining correct posture is expected to support motor nerve transmission, thereby increasing safety.
knowledge
For athletes, standing posture is very important. It is important for athletes to adjust their everyday "way of standing". Athletes who push their hip joints or pelvis forward, close their chest, shoulder forward, and stand with a rounded back and slightly hunched posture cannot perform well. It is important for athletes to stand "comfortably", which is the basis of their movements. "Comfortably" means not using unnecessary muscle strength as much as possible. To do this, they should "stand" perpendicular to the ground. The entire head is pulled back slightly (the straight line connecting the ear hole and the shoulder is vertical), but the chin is not pulled in tight, but rather protrudes slightly forward. The shoulder position is neither forward nor pulled in, but is in a relaxed neutral position. For people who stand with a posterior pelvis, this neutral way of standing feels like the pelvis is tilted forward slightly. The hip joint is "externally rotated", and the knees and toes are slightly facing outward. If you try to raise your arms out in front of you to the left and right in this position, you will see that you can move them smoothly with almost no resistance or effort. The position of the pelvis should be slightly backwards, with the pelvis directly above the heels (or ankles). When the pelvis and upper arms are unconsciously rotated outward and the shoulders are in a neutral position, it may appear that the chest is puffed out, but this is not a conscious effort. This posture is called the neutral standing posture. The neutral shoulder position mentioned above and the neutral pelvis upright are closely related and interconnected.
A general term for the muscles that stabilize the axis of the body, and refers to the torso excluding the head, hands, and legs. This part has many muscles and a spine that moves in a twisting motion, making it a very important part for controlling the body. The core muscles are divided into the anterior core muscles (main examples are the rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis, oblique abdominal muscles, and pectoralis major) and the posterior core muscles (posterior back muscles, erector spinae, and trapezius). The state in which these muscles work and put pressure on the abdominal cavity is called abdominal pressure, which stabilizes the movement of the internal organs and maintains the natural curvature of the spine. A stable core allows you to use your hands and feet in a balanced manner, making you less likely to get injured and improving your performance. It is said that not only athletes but also the general public can use their core properly in their daily lives to prevent back pain and unexpected injuries.
The wide, well-fitting belt made of YOROI® Protector's wetsuit material increases abdominal pressure and supports the abdominal muscles, stabilizing the core. It can be said that this is also connected to the samurai spirit of tightening the belt and getting pumped up.

Washing Instructions
YOROI® protectors can be washed at home. You can wash them in the washing machine (hand wash cycle) using the laundry net provided with the product, but you can extend the life of the product by handling it with care as described below.
The trick to washing is to not damage the fibers.
By washing the garment with due consideration to the characteristics of the delicate material, you can make it last longer.
★Each product has its own washing instructions, so please refer to them.

How to choose a detergent
We recommend a neutral detergent (such as Emar or Acron, which are used for delicate clothing).
Do not use bleach as it may cause yellowing or damage the material.

Precautions when washing in a washing machine
Hand washing is generally recommended, but you can also put it in a laundry net and wash it on a gentle cycle. When washing in a washing machine, we recommend putting it in a laundry net and washing it alone with a small amount of water, rather than washing it with a lot of other things. Please spin dry carefully and for a short time to avoid damaging the main body.

Dryers that should never be used
Drum-type washing machines with drying functions are becoming more common, but you should never dry your clothes in a dryer.
Our protectors are made using a lot of polyurethane and synthetic rubber materials that improve their elasticity, so it is best to let them dry naturally in the shade (in a well-ventilated room).
The high heat of the dryer can cause damage to the protector, such as hardening the polyurethane fibers and rubber parts or shrinking the fabric.
